The D.P.S. Society was created in 1949 with the objective of imparting quality education to children. In a journey spanning over half a century, the D.P.S. Society has covered many milestones with over 200 schools spread across the length and breadth of India and even abroad.

A large measure  of this success is owed to a distinguished Board of Governors who have had the foresight to keep pace with the changing times while adhering to the principles, values and philosophy which are the hallmarks of the D.P.S. culture : humility - in spirit , thought and deed

DPS Gandhidham is an initiative of Padma Education & Welfare Society. The School was establised in memory of Mr. Chandrshekar Ayachi's Mother, Mrs. Padmaben N. Ayachi for fulfilling her dream of providing quality education to the children of Gandhidham and the adjoining areas. Now the School is all set to realize her cherished dream.

DPS Gandhidham can boast of an imposing campus, state of the art infrastructure and an excellent faculty, handpicked from all over the country under the expert guidence of the DPS Society. The enviable sports facilities include Horse riding, Swimming, Cricket, Skating, Socker, Tennis and Indoor games. Specialized coaches have been appointed the teach the skills of each game to the children.

For Music, Art and Dance we have teachers from Shantiniketan which is reputed for producing artistes and painters of the renown. We have separate teachers for Western and Indian Music (both vocal and instrumental).

The philosophy of the School is based on a child-centred approach whereby the child is the most vital factor in the School’s spectrum. Our emphasis is on making learning a joyful experience where children learn to apply knowledge and information to real life situations. In keeping with the philosophy of eminent educationist Kurt Hahn, we believe in an outward bound education which takes a child beyond the confines of the classroom. Therefore exposure is the keyword. Our curriculum will provide a wide exposure to our students so that they are equipped to face the challenges of the future, and face the vicissitudes of life with equanimity.

Our aim is to produce global citizens who can make a significant contribution to society while leading rich and fulfilling lives.

This comprises two domes .
The ground floor of A wing houses a spacious Reception , Accounts & Administrative offices , Audio/Visual Room, Administrative Office of Principal, Pro-Vice Chairman’s Chamber, Education Advisor’s Office, Server Room and a first Aid Room. The First Floor of A Wing has 8 classrooms, a staff room and a toilet block for boys and girls. The second floor has similar capacity.

The B-Wing is the second part of the academic building block housing a colourful Pre-Primary Block, Classrooms and a Computer Lab with state of the art computers, Mathematics, Geography, and Science labs and the indoor games rooms. The Library is located in this block which will ultimately be a library for the junior children. This dome also has three floors. The Art, Dance, Music Rooms & Indoor sport rooms are located here.

A canteen is located close to the B Block which also has a delightful play area for the toddlers equipped with a variety of swings, a splash pool, a huge floor chess board, snakes and ladders and a special outdoor theatre exclusively for Pre-Primary children.

The unique structure of the building allows for optimum use of the space. The building has been specially fabricated to withstand an earthquake of the intensity of 8.2 on the Richter scale.
